Ready to brighten up the holiday season? Join us for the First Annual Oostburg Holiday Lights Contest! Decorate your home or business, show off your festive spirit, and compete for prizes and recognition. It’s free, fun, and open to everyone in the 53070 zip code.
Displays should be ready by the Christmas Parade on November 28, 2026 so the whole community can enjoy them that evening!
Important Dates
- Registration Opens: November 1
- Registration Closes: Evening of November 22
- Displays Ready: November 28 (lights on 5–9 p.m. starting this day)
- Voting Period: December 1 – December 20
- Winners Announced: December 22
Who Can Enter?
- Homes and businesses located in the Oostburg zip code 53070
- Separate categories for Home and Business
- Free to enter
- One entry per home or business
How to Enter
Fill out our Google Form (link will be posted here, on our Facebook page, and in the e-newsletter starting November 1, 2026) and email a photo of your display to the Oostburg Chamber. You’ll also share:
- Your name (or business name)
- Address
- Phone number
- Category (Home or Business)
Registration closes the evening of November 22, 2026. Please submit your entry before then so we can include you on the map of displays.
Display Guidelines
- Your decorations and lights should be easy to see from the street.
- Lights need to be on from at minimum from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. every day from November 28, 2026 through December 20, 2026.
- Keep displays family-friendly and in the holiday spirit.
- Please follow all local rules and keep things safe.
A map of all registered displays will be shared once registration closes so everyone can drive around and enjoy the lights!
How Voting Works
The community will vote online from December 1, 2026 through December 20, 2026 via a Google form. One vote per person. The voting link will be shared on this page, our Facebook page, and in the e-newsletter.
Winners will be announced on Tuesday, December 22, 2026 on Facebook, Instagram and via email.
Prizes
Home Category
- 1st Place: $250
- 2nd Place: $100
- Honorable Mentions (3): $25 each
Business Category
Business winners receive great recognition and free promotion around town:
- 1st Place Business: Featured on Chamber social media, January 2027 Edition in the Chamber’s e-newsletter, and in Lakeshore Weekly advertising. Complimentary (or preferred) sponsorship or vendor space at AugustFest, special recognition at the Annual Banquet in April, and a shout-out at the Community Easter Egg Hunt.
- 2nd Place Business: Social media and recognized in the January 2027 Edition of the Chamber’s e-newsletter features plus recognition at the Annual Banquet.
- 3rd Place Business: Social media shout-outs and a recognized in the January 2027 Edition of the Chamber’s e-newsletter.
